The String Director has overall responsibility for the advancement of the NYSO string students. In conjunction with the Executive Director, Music Director and NYSO conductors, the String Director will assist in the audition process to place students in the appropriate orchestra. Weekly rehearsal attendance, recruitment of new NYSO students and assistance in music selection (when requested) are required of this position. The String Director will also oversee the Chamber Music Program which runs during mid-season (typically December - March) for the Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble.
